Legendary West London Crate Diggers Size Doesn’t Matter team up with Originators of Funky Vibes “Bring The Noise”, for a strictly 7 inch 45 night in the heart of Portobello. Si Kurrage Mr Shiver Dj Thor and Flowerz return to their spiritual home in Grove. There are some amazing collectors and Dj’s out there and we aim to share some of this dance floor knowledge with the crowd. It’s 75 years since the 7’ format was first introduced and this allowed the average Joe to own and take home recording that had previously only been available to hear on Radio or at live events. The 7 inch 45rpm recording was a musical revolution in its own time allowing the masses to buy in to the popular music of the time, this in turn spawned a new generation of musicians artists and labels which our night 7^th Heaven aims to celebrate in all its glorious forms, so much great music from so many corners of the planet.

We are delighted to welcome not one but two fabulous guests. First up with no introduction required, is none other than Local Hero and Outernational Sounds creator Harv-inder Singh (Honest Johns). Harv’s record collection is steeped deep in the roots of spiritual jazz, pan African-American fusion, world music and so much more, his selections cross from the cosmic to the sublime. We’re delighted he’s available and know he’ll bring the heat with his sleazy Latin bangers and rare dance floor groovers. We’ve been buying records off Harv for years, and his “Feeling good show” is on point blank… every Tuesday 9am-12noon, with Si Kurrage and Mr Shiver’s “Stranger Tings” Show following 12-4pm every Tuesday, every week… (We will be advertising the event weekly on both shows)

Our second guest is a record collector so infamous, a heavy wieght collecter who’s wealth and depth of experience in all things vinyl is very possibly second to none. This is the guy that finds the records others can’t, the dj’s dj and digger. Under stated, humble and with a smile that disarms and charms, he’s a long term afficianado at the Soul and Dance Exchange and hosts a Monthly on The Boat Pod. We’ve purchased many a fine tune from this man over the years. Known simply to many as “The Knowledge” … we welcome Sean ‘The Knowledge P’ to share his Jedi skills with the good people of West London. This mans crates are so deep he’ll turn Hari Krishnas in to boogie bad boys….

After missing his 50th Flowerz will be celebrating both his 50th & 54th birthday party on the night, so be sure to be ready to get down!. This bad man has been at the heart of London’s Rare Groove scene for decades collecting, DJing and putting on club nights since the 80s. Flowerz also sells obscure funk rare 45s from his pop up store and yes you’ve got it, we’ve all bought records off him to!!!. Flowerz hosted the funk room at Phillip salons “Mud Club” parties at Bagleys Warehouse in Kings Cross which went down in history as one of London’s most hedonistic and decadent parties of its day, legendary some say!!… Bring the noise is a Facebook page started by Flowerz which celebrates clubland history from 1980-1999, with events kicking off in 2015 with the 1st BTN Party. These brought Artists, Photographers, Dancers, Musicians and Fashion Designers together as well as a seriously curated line up of Selectors and Djs for a great party on the iconic South bank.

Size Doesn’t Matter were formed in Ladbroke Grove in 2002, Running a highly successful 7’inch only Monthly night for 10 years in a Victorian underground loo in Shepherds Bush (2002 -2012). The SDM vibe was always inclusive and about the people as much as the music. Three Size Doesn’t Matters selectors will represent on the eve with Dj Thor, Si Kurrage and Mr Shiver all getting stuck in. Our Djs continue to represent at festivals, clubs, bars and gatherings both nationally and internationally and we are hugely excited to team up with long term friends at Bring the Noise to put something rather special together for 2024. It’s time to pull out the platters that matter and drop those funky joints with more like minded DJs and Dancers, to team up with long term friends, collectors and heroes and  to put on a regular inclusive and funky Jam for like minded funky folk of West London
